About Us and our Mission

Tested on Unicorns, Not bunnies

Tested on the beautiful people that helped support and build our little hobby and turn it into what it is today.

Thoughtful Ingredients

We believe that our planet is a beautiful place, and that it should stay that way so we’re making it our mission to keep being environmentally conscious and reduce our carbon footprint, from the ingredients we use all the way to the packaging and logistics.

We use 100% soy wax scented for our candles, a plant derived base for our reed diffuser blended with phthalate-free fragrance oils and pure essential oils

Our product care cards are printed on hand crafted plantable paper that contains wildflower seeds.

Reuse - Recycle - Repurpose - Compost

We are trying to source as much Eco-friendly alternatives for everything, including our packaging, stickers, vessels, even tape!

Our jars and bottles are all shipped to us locally or from interstate, which means we’ve gathered up a lot of packing peanuts (it’s biodegradable! Yay! We checked) and bubble wrap (sadly still plastic) that we plan to repurpose as much as possible (Please let us know if you want to go 100% plastic free).

Bubble wrap and polystyrene peanuts contribute a considerable amount to landfill each year and are not biodegradable, meaning they are difficult or impossible to decompose.

All the materials that we do purchase are all Eco-friendly; they’ve either been made from a recycled material, can be recycled or composted, and are plastic free.

Sadly, we are unable refill the glass candle jars with your favorite scents as we do not want to risk a potential fire hazard, but we are looking into alternative candle vessels that can be recycled in the future.

We're not done yet! We've got big plans for our future;

We plan to discontinue producing any products with plastic bottles, but because we’ve had an oversupply on plastic bottles, we’re currently going to use all of those first instead of just trashing them. We’re still currently looking into glass bottles and other alternatives. And although the bottles may be plastic, they are still recyclable!

We are also looking into a more nicer candle vessel that could be up-cycled better than glass

Australian owned and
Australian made

We are created, designed, and hand crafted right here in Sydney, Australia.

We pride ourselves to only ordering our supplies locally, even if it means it costs us more to source materials than it would if we sourced them from overseas.

Small businesses are important to the economic and the social fabric of our society; and we all play a part in their survival. Covid has taken a turn for the worst for many small businesses, some shops that have been opened for decades have closed permanently due to restrictions and lock-downs.

When you support us, you are not only supporting one small Australian business; You are supporting countless others too.

Handmade in small batches

Each KOLT jar are handmade in very small batches to ensure that each and every product are carefully crafted with love, care, and to ensure quality control.

No big manufacturer machines are being used.

Because we try to use minimal to no preservatives in our products, the production of small batches ensures they are just sitting there waiting to be sold.

Giving Back

Our goal at KOLT is to be able to give back to charities and organisations that are helping to improve our communities and our world.

In 2020, with the help of our honorary KOLT members, we were able to donate 10% of every candle sold to the NSW Rural Fire Service and we matched the amount raised with our own money to donate to the Red Cross Australia to help after the devastating fires that Australia had that summer.

This year, we’re going to donate to lifeline Australia; who have experienced a 25% increased volume of calls Australia wide this year due to covid-19. Did you know it takes $3,500 to train one volunteer Lifeline crisis supporter to be there for thousands of others during their darkest hours.

For more information go to lifeline.org.au And if you or someone you know are thinking about suicide. Please call lifeline on 13 11 14

We’re all here to make an impact to our world; one candle at a time.
